Enzo Maresca and Chelsea have been busy this summer, with both the Club World Cup and transfers weighing heavily on their minds.
Chelsea are preparing for their quarterfinal match against Palmeiras, where the team will face Estevao Willian, one of Chelsea’s incoming players after the tournament.
The team has already added João Pedro, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr. Jamie Gittens is set to join Chelsea, but he won’t be available for the tournament, as he’s already played for Borussia Dortmund in the Club World Cup.
With so many signings coming in, the club looks to be transforming ahead of the next Premier League season and Champions League season for Chelsea. One Chelsea defender has had his say on the club’s atmosphere.
What did Levi Colwill say about the upcoming season?
Colwill spoke on whether the club is transforming, saying, “I’d definitely say so but at the same time we all know how big this club is and how the culture of the club has always been to win.”

The team capped off a good season by winning the Conference League and putting on a show so far during the Club World Cup.
Colwill went on to say, “We’re just trying to reinforce that to the young boys, to the boys coming in, that this club is for winners only. That’s what we all need to do and strive towards. That’s what we want to do together.
“Anyone that comes to Chelsea knows the history of the club. They know they are coming here to only win. We’ve got a great team and everyone’s on the same wavelength to try and win.”
Colwill has been a regular under Maresca, starting 35 of 38 Premier League games this season. The defender also scored two goals and supplied one assist on the season.
He also made his debut for Thomas Tuchel’s England in their match against Senegal, but the defender has his eyes set on even more.
He said, “Of course it is going to be a huge season for me at Chelsea. We’re back in the Champions League too which we plan to do as well as possible. Then we’ve got the Premier League where we want to push on and do better than we did this season.

“For me, looking at the end of the season where we’ve got the World Cup, it will be a big aim to be there.”
