Arsenal are reportedly prioritising a new striker in the summer transfer market as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in a consistent goalscorer to fire the Gunners towards trophies in 2025/26.
This season has been heavily impacted by injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, and Arsenal have been forced to rely on makeshift options in attack, as their Premier League title chase has faltered.
Among the multiple options being looked, Arsenal will cast their transfer net wide in the months ahead, with Sky Germany suggesting a change in the status of RB Leipzig marksman Benjamin Sesko.
The 21-year-old is on Arteta’s radar and Arsenal are rumoured to have seen a transfer offer rejected by the Bundesliga side last summer.
Since then, his release clause has swelled to €80m [$90m] due to his impressive performances for Leipzig. But, his current deal includes a flexible option on that exit fee, which Arsenal are keeping an eye on.
The Slovenia international is being tracked by multiple clubs from across Europe and Leipzig could sell him for below his formal release clause.

Arsenal are the frontrunners to bring in Sesko, but other EPL clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring him.

The 21-year-old has scored 21 goals this season, in 43 club matches, including a Bundesliga record of 13 goals and five assists in 31 games.
Apart from goals in the Bundesliga, the youngster has also excelled in the UEFA Champions League, with four goals in eight appearances in Europe’s top tier competiton.
Speaking to Sky Germany on May 6, Sesko highlighted his desire to keep his options open over his next destination. “Right now, I’m 100% focused on RB Leipzig. Then we’ll see what happens. It’s open, anything can happen.”
Sesko’s physicality and athleticism would fit in the Premier League with his overall RB Leipzig tally standing at 39 goals in 85 appearances since joining from sister club RB Salzburg in 2023.
