Pereira attempts to defend the light heavyweight title for the third time, with all fights in 2024. The Brazilian has fought whenever needed against any opponent, even after suffering from a knee injury before a 2023 fight against Jan Blachowicz.

Now healthy, a win could secure him Fighter of the Year while also showing how dangerous he can be, healthy or not.

“I was able to fight with such bad conditions with my leg, and now that I have had the surgery and am 100 percent healthy, I want to fight all the time,” Pereira told ESPN.

Rountree got a title shot despite a suspension after failing a drug test. Ranked outside the top five of light heavyweight, he has a chance to shock the world.
